Last quarterly HR Network Series event for 2016

The 4th HR Network Series, hosted by Caroline Buhagiar, Head of Analytics at salariesinmalta.com was held on 6th December 2016.

The focus of this series is to create a strong community of HR Leaders and Practitioners that will redefine and reshape HR in Malta, through the collaboration and sharing of best practices. Throughout the series, we will be featuring leading local and international HR Directors and business leaders from different companies and sectors.

For our fourth HR Network Series we had the pleasure to have with us Ms. Fiona Ewins Brown, HR Director at Catenamedia based in Malta. Special guest speaker Ms. Nicole Pritchard, Head of HR, Group Function Sales, Group Function Marketing & Communications at Ericsson based in Sweden also joined us for the event in Malta.

Both speakers spoke about Performance Management and the practices used both in Catenamedia and Ericsson. They shared tools and different processes they apply in their organization, what works and what doesn’t. Performance Management is one of the fundamental practices that is the base for compensation management, career development, and human capital strategies.


With over 20 years’ experience working in HR, Fiona has amassed a wealth of HR skills and knowledge in a variety of areas. Fiona’s HR background has seen her work within global organizations with offices around the world. She has gained HR experience in Australia, the UK, and, most recently, Malta. Prior to her current role as HR Director at Catena Media, and member of the management team, Fiona worked with such reputable organizations as GFI Software, Morgan Stanley, and Ernst & Young.

With over 16 years’ experience, Nicole has worked in a variety of consulting and HR roles in Australia, Asia and Europe. Having designed performance management systems to drive high performance for financial services and government agencies, Nicole holds a Masters of Organizational Psychology and Honors Degree in Psychology, with a focus on psychometrics and multigenerational workplaces. She is currently the Head of HR, Group Function Sales, Group Function Marketing & Communications at Ericsson, Sweden.

Caroline in an avid and passionate HR professional who has worked in large multinational companies both in manufacturing and the finance sector. She served as Global Learning Director in Europe, US and Asia. She is fluent in manufacturing excellence, business excellence, building HR capability and driving company performance through leadership development. Her experience has given her a clear understanding of what it takes to inspire, lead, grow and manage people.
